Tips on how to Take Steps To Good Health

Families are more concerned about learning how to be healthy than ever before.  As job loss climbs, family stress increases.  Parents worry about how to support their families.  Groceries are rising in prices, bargains seem far away, worries increase.

Natural or alternative medicine is often thought of as a recent phenomenon; in reality, much of it is as old as human history.

Every society has created herbal cures and person to person remedies, many of which have been included into normal and respected medicine theories and practices.  It is reported that probably half of our cures and drugs come from natural plant sources.  Many people who do not support natural herbal treatments are surprised to learn that the prescription drug they take contains many of the same ingredients.

Some 3,000 years agok Indian, Chinese, and Greek philosophers decided that health was built upon a balance of internal forces, and the alternative medicine of today is a direct outgrowth of their thinking.  Growing numbers of Americans have come to recognize that achieving and maintaining good health is a personal responsibility, affected by lifestyle.  There is increased emphasis on good nutrition, exercise, and weight control.  Many natural health remedies, which were once dismissed as mostly “hokum,” are now considered adjucts to conventional medicine and important in preventing and treating numerous diseases.  Scientific studies show that ordinary foods, such as tomatoes, broccoli, and blueberries, contain ingredients that may help fight cancer, heart disease, infections, and a range of other ailments.

Caution:  Always report any symptoms of illness to your doctor.  Second, tell your doctor about any supplements or herbs and vitamins you are taking, or may want to take.

This is critical if you are pregnant or have a chronic condition such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure.  Natural remedies might not interact well with conventional drugs.

Be aware that herbs can be harmful if taken in excess, so stick to recommended strengths and doses.  Get a doctor’s approval, and expert advice on dosages, before giving herbal medicine to children under 16.

Finally, never discontinue or alter the dosage of any prescribed medicine without first consulting your doctor.

One of the most important factors in living a healthy life involve your day to day decisions about what to eat, what to drink, how much salt you will use, and how much to exercise.  Consistent moderate exercise will go a long way, once your doctor has approved your program, in keeping your energy high and your health good.

Of course, there are other considerations in living a healthy life, like genetics.  Even so, how you eat, and what you eat can make a big difference in the way you feel.

Tips On How To Concentrate Rather Than Diversify Your Portfolio

Our national leaders are regularly reminding us of something that is evident just by looking at all of the foreclosed homes in your neighborhood, the economy looks gloomy. Even as the safest investments prove to be not so safe, there are some ways to improve your bottom line.

Businesses report that earnings are down and morale is low. Consumer confidence is low as well. Because the credit market is tight, businesses are not borrowing as much to invest, expand, or fund new projects. This all affects the bottom line. With that said, times are not good right now. However, it is hard to call an actual bottom on the market, so we don’t know for sure if it will go lower.

How can I increase my income, so I can invest in the stock market?

As an investor you are taking a much greater risk, saving is a stage on the road to investing. You cannot be an investor without being a saver but you can be a saver without being an investor. Investing is what you do with the savings you have created if you are looking to generate a return on your money that is greater than what is already available to you through your savings instruments.

Are you tired of losing money in the stock market?

Millions of people have lost billions and trillions of dollars and are watching their hard earned money taxi down the runway. But putting your money under your mattress is still not the best investment in these volatile times.

The economy the stock market and the dollar are on a steady decline. It’s not a surprise that many people are scared to invest their money in the stock market right now with the wild volatility it has been showing over the past year.

With the current Obama administration, one way to start investing now is to start investing in green technology. Now may be the time to concentrate rather than diversify your portfolio. Solar cell and wind power companies would be some possibilities. Although we are facing the worst economy since the Great Depression, it is clear that in the next five years you will see more money being invested in green technology which will result in positive results for companies in this industry.

How To Grow Beautiful Fingernails!

Do you want healthy fingernails and toenails that glow with natural sheen?

Teens, Moms, even Dads want healthy fingernails and will often spend or break the family budget trying to grow beautiful fingernails!

Nails are vulnerable to a host of minor problems:  splitting, hangenails, discoloration, ingrown toenails, and infections, among others.  Many of those disorders are due to overuse of, or sensitivity to, nail polish and remover, adhesives, and nail extensions.  Teens and Moms, be careful not to have your own nails filed down on top to a thin layer.  The use of “fake” nails is pretty, but very hard and scarring to your natural nailbed.

Overexposure to water and/or harsh chemicals can also damage nails, causing them to chip, split, or break.  Tight, pointed shoes can lead to ingrown toenails, and so can improper cutting and injuries.  Nail biting and overly aggressive removal of the cuticles can result in bacterial infections.

Clean, well-trimmed, healthy nails are pretty!

Here are some tips to growing beautiful nails:

Food Power

Protein is very important.  Eat plenty of lean meat, poultry and fish for iron and high-quality protein, citrus fruits for vitamin C, and dark green leafy vegetables, whole-grain products, legumes, and fruit juices for folate and other B vitamins.  All those nutrients help build and maintain healthy nails.

Other Remedies

  • Wear gloves when doing household cleaning to keep the nails dry and protect them from unnecessary wear and tear.  After handwashing or bathing, gently rub a lotion or moisturizer that contains 10% urea into the nail plate and surrounding tissue.
  • Removing the cuticles with chemical solutions or with clipper deprives the nails of a tough and effective barrier against infection.  Instead, dermatologists recommend pushing the cuticles back with an orange stick after soaking the fingersin warm water
  • Don’t let your “manicurist” clip your cuticles!
  • Don’t let your nails be filed or buffed on top!
  • Use vitamin oils, and take gelatin supplements if you have determined they are safe.

Disclaimer:  Always consult a doctor if you think you have a serious nail condition.

Fungus and other nail ailments can be serious but are more easily treated than ever before!

Stressful lives, such as cop families, foster kids, kids in turmoil, or abuse can cause nail-biting.  Some of this stress can be alleviated and not taken out on your nails, if you create healthy habits that include family time, exercise, and sports or hobbies as outlets for stress.

Moms and teens, and dads as well can have beautiful nails and toenails if they are kept clean, your diet is full of proteins and nutrients, and you do not do over cut or trim the nails.

Healthy hands and fingernails, and toes, glow!

How to Secure Low Rates on Your Merchant Account Services

In this day and age of instant gratifaction, one of the first things a new entrepreneur will want to think about is getting themselves set up to accept debit and credit cards.  In order to get the most out of your new Point-of-Sale Terminal, you have to take a few steps to ensure that you’re getting great terms, services, and offers available today.  Because competition runs so high in this market, you have the ability to get top offers at the lowest rates.

Your first step in in choosing which company to go with by comparing the options of two or three of the top merchant account companies.  If you like something about one company, but someone else’s annual fees are lower, don’t be afraid to share this information with your first choice.  Chances are that they will meet this rate, or maybe even go lower.  Most Merchant Account Companies will go out of their way to bring you in as their customer.

Before making any decisions, make sure you read everything there is to know about what you’re getting into.  Though each Payment Processing Provider may be close in their transaction fees, make sure to look for things such as minimum payments, annual fees, and statement fees.  These are sneaky little fees to look for when choosing the best merchant account.  Another thing to remember is that Credit Card Terminals are not as expensive as many people believe them to be and you don’t have to lease a machine in order to get your merchant account.  In Canada, POS Terminals can be bought outright for anywhere around 900-1500 dollars depending on hardware and warranty conditions.

Once you’ve made your final decision and have begun the application process, there are a few things to keep in mind.  First of all, you will have to give an estimation on your monthly credit card totals, and an average dollar amount per credit card sale.  These are very important numbers and an excessive over-estimate or under-estimate could cause your merchant account to be terminated.  Talk to your merchant account provider and they’ll be more than happy to help you come up with something you can both work toward.

As you begin accepting credit cards, there are a few more things to keep in mind.  Certain cards carry a higher rate charge than others, and there is really nothing you can do about this.  However, there are ways of preventing other higher rates charges.  For example, you need to make sure you clear you credit card batch every day.  Failure to do so can end up costing you a lot of money.  Also, if for some reason a customer requests a chargeback on their card, you have a limited amount of time to dispute this action.  If you do nothing about the situation when it comes up, it can become quite expensive for you and your account may even be terminated.

If you take your time and do a little research, you should have no trouble getting the best Merchant Account available.  By following these few guidelines and paying close attention to your monthly merchant account statement, you will soon be running a very successful business.
